The Pretty Reckless Take Over Calgary On Their Dear God World Tour

After their stop in Edmonton accompanying AC/DC on their Power Up Tour, The Pretty Reckless stopped in Calgary to play a headline show in support of their Dear God World Tour at the Grey Eagle Event Centre on Tuesday night (August 11).

The Calgary crowd certainly showed up, before the band even arrived in the city, the show sold out the original venue, The Palace Theatre, at 1200 capacity within a day. Later on the show was upgraded to the Grey Eagle Event Centre to accommodate the demand allowing even more fans to attend.  The Pretty Reckless may have had the longest merch line the Eagle’s ever seen with dedicated fans lined up across the venue, by the end of the night everything was sold out.

Before The Pretty Reckless had even taken the stage their supporting acts – the elusive alt-rock band Doug and Paris Jackson – opening sets had the room already packed. When the headliners opened their set with their hit, “Death By Rock and Roll” the room erupted with excitement and energy that only grew as the night went on. By the look on lead singer, Taylor Momsen’s face throughout the night, the Calgary crowd was exceptionally loud.

The band put on a phenomenal performance with extended instrumental moments allowing the guitarists, bassist and drummer shine as well as Momsen – a true vocal powerhouse – somehow managed to sound exactly like her studio recordings while maintaining the human aspect of live music.

Adorned in a layered jacket, which would later be taken off to reveal a white tank top and plaid skirt, Momsen glowed skipping back and forth across the stage, her signature blond locks solidifying her rockstar look. Momsen’s effortless stage presence keeps fans engaged as the show goes on, interacting with the crowd throughout the night, even getting down to sing with fans at the barricade.

The setlist was crafted to cater to every fan in the room that night, whether they knew every lyric to every song, or just the singles, there was a wide range of songs spanning The Pretty Reckless’ discography. From their very first song, “Make Me Wanna Die” to hits and deep cuts off of their newest release Dear God (June 26, 2026), “For I Am Death”, “When I Wake Up”, “Love Me”, and “Dear God” to name a few.

The show last night in Calgary happened to be the second time the band played “Dragonfire” off the new record, proclaimed to be a difficult one to replicate live on guitar, and slowed it down for “Devil In Disguise (Michellle’s Song)” – a heartfelt tribute to Momsen’s late friend. Of course in between the new record they had to play hits such as “Follow Me Down”, “Heaven Knows” and “Going to Hell”. And take it all the way back to the beginning with tracks like, “Miss Nothing”.

The night ended with a riveting encore, Momsen returning in an oversized red tee to sing “About You” off the new record and in the process announce to the crowd that tonight’s performance would be featured in the music video for the song. Whether you’re a casual fan or a diehard if we learned anything after attending The Pretty Reckless in Calgary last night, it’s that next time they’re in your city, you have to go see them.
