THE SECRET SLIPKNOT ALBUM BEING RELEASED IN 2026
By Kayla Harper
Slipknot fans were surprised to discover a shelved Slipknot album, Look Outside Your Window, made during the All Hope Is Gone (2008) sessions appear on the 2026 Record Store Day release list. The exciting news may have slipped past some fans as the album is not being released under Slipknot, but instead Look Outside Your Window, as it was only made by four of Slipknot’s members, Corey Taylor (vocals), Jim Root (guitar), Shawn “Clown” Crahan (percussion) and Sid Wilson (DJ).
As of now, the album is being released on a splatter vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day which fans can pick up on April 18 from their local store. Composed of 10 tracks, the tracklist is as follows:
- “11th March”
- “Moth”
- “Dirge”
- “Christina”
- “Is Real”
- “Away”
- “In Reverse”
- “Toad”
- “Juliette”
- “U Can’t Stop This”
The songs didn’t make the cut for All Hope Is Gone, as the members explain, “We knew we were heading down a different creative path, entirely apart from Slipknot, and we followed it eagerly” (Knotfest, February 4, 2026). So while the sound might stray from what we’d usually expect from the Slipknot members, we can anticipate something ominous, unique and experimental as inferred by the members statement to Knotfest, “That sense of the unknown seeped into the music itself. There were no rules; ideas could come from anywhere: subtle drum loops, bits of organ or abstract guitar noise, even samples of frogs or crickets. Guided by emotion and instinct, we let the sounds themselves point the way” (February 4, 2026).
